Free Climbing
A pink and gray granite mountain over 1.000 meters high, a mountain ridge that crosses the entire western part of the island, and all around high rocks are reflected in the sea: the island of Elba is truly a paradise for those who love free-climbing, challenging themselves ant the nature. The island counts numerous places that can only be reached via free-climber itineraries of varying difficulty and some 'vie ferrate', or 'iron paths', as they are also known to enjoy the thrill and pleasure of conquest, far from the mass tourism.
Paragliding
Thw thrill of a silent flight, like a falcon or a seagull is one of the most interesting experiences the island of Elba has to offer. There are many starting points that are ideal for paragliding. Various spots along the even, mighty slopes of Monte Capanne are a perfect trampoline for this sport with ascending currents that can carry you to altitudes of 2000 to 2500 meters for 3 or 4 hours flight; it is also perfect for flying, when there is no wind, from the forests, the mediterranean maquis to the sandy beaches.
